Rollins Earn And Learn (REAL) Program Calendar

Non-CDC

  • August 1 – October 3: Employers may begin posting positions and students may begin applying
  • September 4: Earliest date a student may begin working if they’ve received an authorization email from RSPH Human Resources - Students may NOT begin working before that authorization
  • October 8: Deadline for students to secure a position if starting in fall semester (Employers, that means a student has accepted your offer)
  • October 8 - 9: Fall break 
  • November 1: Employers may begin posting job positions for spring 2018
  • November 22 -23: University holiday (students are not allowed to work)
  • December 11 – 21: Students may work up to 40 hours/week (versus 20 hours/week during periods of enrollment)
  • December 28: Last day students may work during fall semester
  • December 29 – January 1: Winter break (students are not allowed to work)
  • January 2: Earliest start date for spring semester
  • January 2 – 11: Students may work up to 40 hours/week (versus 20 hours/week during periods of enrollment)
  • January 14: First day of classes
  • January 21: University holiday (students are not allowed to work)
  • February 25: Last date job postings can remain up for spring semester hires
  • March 4: Deadline for students to secure a position for the spring semester (Employers, that means a student has accepted your offer if they are not continuing from the previous semester)
  • March 11 – 15: Spring break (students may work up to 40 hours/week)
  • April 29 – May 4: Students may work up to 40 hours/week (versus 20 hours/week during periods of enrollment)
  • May 11: Last day students may work during the spring semester

CDC

  • October 2: Earliest date a student may begin working at the CDC if they’ve received an authorization email from RSPH Human Resources - Students may not begin working before that authorization
  • October 14: Deadline for CDC employers to secure a student for a fall semester position / CDC employers must submit hire paperwork to CDCWorkStudyPro in the CDC's Human Resources Office
  • November 1 – February 25: Employers may post positions for spring semester hires and students may begin applying
  • November 22 – 23: University holiday (students are not allowed to work)
  • December 11 – 21: Students may work up to 40 hours/week (versus 20 hours/week during periods of enrollment)
  • December 28: Last day students may work during the fall semester
  • December 29 – January 1: Winter break (students are not allowed to work)
