Jeffery Osei is a doctoral student in epidemiology at Emory University. Before coming to Emory, he earned his M.D. and worked as a general practitioner in Ghana. Currently, Jeffery works as a clinical research coordinator and a research assistant at Emory University Hospital and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Office of Genomics and Precision Public Health, respectively. Jeffery is interested in clinical and translational research on the intersection between mental stress and cardiovascular disease. In particular, the use of traditional and genetic epidemiologic methods and mobile health technologies, to understand the biological mechanisms underlying mental stress and cardiovascular disease, to identify novel biomarkers and risk factors, and develop therapeutic and preventive strategies.
