Financial Aid

The 2021-2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form for financial aid is now available for the fall 2020 semester. To maximize funding opportunities and allow yourself sufficient time for financial planning, complete your FAFSA early.

Scholarships

Applicants who submitted a completed EMPH application in SOPHAS by February 15 will automatically be considered for EMPH scholarship awards. Scholarships are competitive and limited. Award amounts vary depending on scholarship type, applicant pool, and committee recommendations. Award notifications will begin in May and continue until all funds are disbursed. We appreciate your patience as awardees are determined.

Scholarship Descriptions:

  • William Randolph Hearst Scholarship: Awarded to applicants who have demonstrated leadership qualities while employed at the state or local health department in Georgia, with preference given to those who serve rural populations.
  • David J. Sencer Scholarship: Awarded to applicants who have demonstrated leadership qualities while employed at a state or local public health department.
  • Seretean Scholarship: Awarded to a Georgia public health professional working outside of the metro-Atlanta area who has demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Merit Scholarships: Awarded to applicants with a strong record of academic achievement, leadership potential, and commitment to public health.
