Rollins School of Public Health | Faculty Profile
Emory Rollins School of Public Health

Before starting her doctoral journey, Tammy served as an Industrial Hygienist for Northside Hospital. She has a demonstrated history of working in the healthcare, public utility, and education sectors. Skilled in data collection, environmental compliance, hazardous waste management, and infection control, Tammy has experience preforming environmental monitoring, including air, water, and surface contamination, to identify potential exposure risks in the healthcare setting. Due to her interest in Environmental Health Science and Industrial Hygiene, Tammy hopes to conduct mixed method research by assessing cross-media environmental exposures and their impact on public health outcomes amongst communities of color.

Along with her dedication to Occupational Safety and Environmental Health, Tammy has a passion for Environmental Justice. She fuels said interest by increasing the knowledge and understanding of health and environmental justice amongst Atlanta's marginalized communities. Tammy is a proud graduate of Spelman College and Georgia State University. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and a Master of Science degree in Geosciences. During her spare time, Tammy enjoys traveling, binging Netflix, listening to music,  volunteering with her local alumnae chapter, cooking, and spending time with loved ones during her spare time.
