Ines  Gonzalez Casanova

Dr. Gonzalez-Casanova is Assistant Professor of Global Health at Emory University and director of the Health Window (Ventanilla de Salud), Atlanta preventive health program. Originally from Mexico, she obtained a degree clinical nutrition from the School of Nutrition and Dietetics (EDN) of the Mexican Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) in 2005 and completed her professional practices at the Department of Community Nutrition of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP).  

Dr. Gonzalez-Casanova has worked in several preventive interventions in the areas of maternal and child health, childhood obesity and chronic disease prevention that have translated into important research findings and meaningful collaborations in Colombia, Mexico, Vietnam, Guatemala, Germany, Spain, and across the US. Besides participating in study design and implementation, her contributions include the application of advanced statistical methods to analyze multifactorial and longitudinal health outcomes, including mixed models and latent class growth analysis. Currently, her research program applies life-course and syndemic approaches to assess risk factors for obesity, cardiovascular disease, cognitive decline and other chronic disease in diverse populations.
