QUAL WORKS logo

About QUAL-WORKS

QUAL-WORKS offers a series of training workshops on qualitative research. We offer three types of workshops: scheduled workshops, individual mentored sessions, and customized workshops. Scheduled workshops are held twice a year during summer. Mentored sessions provide individual mentoring with a QUAL-WORKS expert on your own research project. Customized workshops can be developed to meet the training needs of your organization. Please see the workshop schedule below with links to fliers for more information on each type of workshop.

Our workshops are suitable for those involved in research or research management. They are valuable for anyone directly involved in conducting qualitative research or those who train research staff, evaluate research contracts, or manage research. Typical participants include public health professionals, university researchers, graduate students, research contractors, government agencies, and non-government organizations.

QUAL-WORKS was developed by Dr. Monique Hennink , Associate Professor of Global Health. She has authored five textbooks on qualitative research and has over 25 years of experience in the design, conduct, implementation, analysis, and publication of qualitative research. She conducts training workshops worldwide in both developed and developing countries. Her research is globally diverse with many projects in resource-poor settings, which provides workshop participants with exposure on how to balance methodological rigor with the practical realities of international field work.

Workshops are held both online and in person at Emory University in the Rollins School of Public Health, 1518 Clifton Road, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
