Meredith Minkler, DrPH., is a Professor of Health and Social Behavior and Director of the DrPH Leadership Program at the School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley. She has close to 30 years experience in developing and implementing community partnerships, community organizing, community based participatory research, and work with diverse community groups including the low income elderly, senior leaders, people with disabilities, youth, and women of color. Dr Minkler's current research includes a national study documenting the impacts of CBPR on health-promoting public policy, a state wide program building senior leadership in healthy aging and community building, and work with a CDC funded youth empowerment project in West Contra Costa, CA. Her publications include over 100 articles in peer reviewed journals and 7 books including the co-edited volume, Community Based Participatory Research for Health (with Nina Wallerstein; Jossey-Bass) and the 2005 edition of Community Organizing and Community Building for Health (Rutgers University Press).
