6 a.m. - 9 a.m.

I wake up at 6 and work out at my apartment’s gym. Then, I’ll make a green smoothie, drive to campus, and park about a mile away (so I can get in some more exercise).

9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

I volunteer at Winship Cancer Institute. I’ve been volunteering there since 2010. My grandmother passed away from cancer; this is my way of giving back.

1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

I do my REAL opportunity working in the pathology department at the Woodruff Memorial Research Building. I’m a graduate research assistant for the Rwanda Zambia HIV Research Group; I hope to work in the Zambia office after graduation.

3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Meet with my group for the class, Community Needs Assessment.

7 p.m. - midnight

I may join a group of friends for appetizers at Tin Lizzy’s and unwind before traveling back to campus (or home) to study.

"I like the idea of applied research; of taking the reseach that has been done and using it to promote change."
