A. About EXACTMA:
-EXACTMA is a program that combines the findings of case-control studies,
follow-up studies with an internal comparison group, and follow-up studies
with an external comparison group using "exact" and large sample procedures.
It accepts 2x2 tables for case-control and for follow-up studies with an
internal comparison group and the number of observed and expected events
for follow-up studies with an external comparison group. Its major purpose
is to provide for a meta-analysis combining the findings from the 3 different
study designs using exact procedures required for sparse data. The program
is free.
B. Downloading and Installing the Program:
EXACT_MA.EXE
Click on the executable program above (EXACT_MA.EXE). You will be given
the option to select a directory in which to save the program. After the
file has been saved to your computer, close all open applications, locate
the saved EXACT_MA.EXE file and double click. Select a directory and press
the Unzip button to copy four files into this directory. The four files
include the program (EXACTMA.EXE), its help file (EXACTMA.HLP), an example
(PAPER.DAT), and a file (README.TXT) containing additional information
about the program. EXACTMA.EXE. and EXACTMA.HLP must be in the same directory.
Double clicking on EXACTMA.EXE executes the program.
