Meeting

  1. Everyone introduced themselves Ð we had at least 6 people new to UFS
  2. Description and overview of UFS
  3. Discussed various components of UFS
    1. Eyeglass collection drives Ð will need people to check the boxes once in a while and to contact new places.
    2. Vision screenings Ð monthly screenings on Saturday mornings/afternoons

                                                    i.     Video on how to conduct a vision screening and required eye health course for all members: www.sph.emory.edu/student/unite/video.htm

    1. Information about going abroad was discussed briefly (many internships through UFS in Africa, Asia, and Latin America).
    2. Fundraising Ð for the club and cataract surgeries conducted abroad

                                                    i.     BINGO NIGHT Ð Will be on Wed, Feb 23rd from 6-8:30pm at GCR P45

                                                     ii.     Will need lots of help

                                                      iii.     Future lunch buffet fundraisers

    1. Will eventually need a marketing team
    2. Speaker series Ð something new that we want to start and will need people to contact faculty and arrange a venue.
    3. Hope Lodge Ð volunteering to make dinner for the residents & families

                                                    i.     April 7th from 6pm-7:30pm
