The International Student Association for Health and Human Rights
(ISAHHR) is an association of student organizations interested in
health and human rights dedicated to promoting involvement in local,
national, and international health and human rights issues. In conjunction
with faculties, staffs, and related organizations and institutions, the
association seeks to act on issues of social justice and to create
awareness through education and praxis.
- Initiate an international dialogue for students who are interested in health and human rights
- Promote the inclusion of health and human rights issues in graduate school curricula
- Function as a forum for promoting a multi-disciplinary approach to health and human rights that includes academic
departments outside the established health professions
- Provide assistance and outreach to schools interested in organizing and maintaining student human rights groups
- Establish formal relationships between student groups and human rights organizations
- Link students to professionals, organizations, and institutions concerned with health and
human rights issues
- Help students to promote human rights education in their local community
- Provide relevant human rights learning experiences to prepare students for situations they will encounter as professionals
in their fields
- Develop a collective student voice for advocacy
