Yijian (Eugene)  Huang

Professor

Faculty, Biostatistics and Bioinformatics

Dr. Huang is Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics. He received his PhD from the University of Minnesota in 1997 and subsequently served as a faculty member at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center through 2004. His methods research interests encompass survival analysis (multi-state process, quality adjusted survival time, lifetime medical cost, recurrent events, and varying effects models such as quantile regression), covariate measurement error, classification and prediction, semi- and non-parametric inferences, and statistical computing. Dr. Huang's collaborations in the realm of clinical research have been instrumental in addressing statistical challenges encountered in clinical trials, epidemiological studies, and the development of diagnostic biomarkers across various critical medical fields, notably cancer, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular diseases, and renal diseases. He has published over 80 papers in statistical and medical journals, and has received a number of grants from NIH and NS. Dr. Huang is an elected fellow of the American Statistical Association.
