Areas of Interest/Research:
Global Health
Risk Assessment

Selected Research Projects:

The research of Dr. Ying Zhou focuses on exposure modeling and health risk/impact assessment. This involves quantitatively assessing the human exposure to pollution from local to national scales through a combination of atmospheric fate and transport models, geographical information system, and predicative statistical models. Dr. Zhou currently leads projects on developing risk-based prioritization among air pollution control strategies in Yangtze River Delta in China, and a project to assess exposure to pollutants emitted from volcanoes in the Big Island, Hawaii. In addition, Dr. Zhou works on assessing the health risks related to climate change.
