To establish and implement a Prevention Research Center with a focus on community-based cancer prevention and reducing health disparities in rural Southwest Georgia. The Center components include evaluation, community partnerships, participatory research, dissemination/communication, and training and educational activities.

To establish and maintain an infrastructure to lead and manage a program of community-based intervention research in cancer prevention and control. Forms partnerships to advance community-based intervention research in cancer prevention and control.

Tobacco Free Cities-A Gates China Tobacco Control Partnership, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. 2008-2013.  To advance tobacco control in China through provision of funds and technical assistance to city-level tobacco control efforts.

 Atlanta Clinical and Translational Science Institute (ACTSI)-Community Engagement Research ProgramNIH, 2012-2017. To support the community engagement components of ACTSI, to develop and evaluate a model for building collaborative research capacity in community-based organizations, and to foster partnerships between academic researchers and communities.

Brief Interventions to Promote Smoke-Free Policies in Low-Income Households.  National Cancer Institute.  2011-2016. To develop, test and disseminate a brief intervention to promote smoke-free homes.
