National Children's Study

Dissertation Support for Applied MCH Epidemiology
PhD students are recruited to work with faculty on applied MCH research projects and to do their dissertation research in an applied setting. Current dissertation projects include a case-control study of the risk of outdoor air pollution in metro Atlanta coincidence of birth defects and the impact of obesity on oral contraceptive failure.

Research on the Scope and Causes of Stillbirth in the United States
This study is intended to study the scope and causes of stillbirth in the United States. It is a joint program between the Emory University School of Medicine, the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University and The Metropolitan Atlanta Stillbirth Study Coalition, a consortium of 7 hospitals located within the boundaries of the City of Atlanta. Years 6 and 7 include analysis of data from the case-control study and the conduct of a followup study for which Dr. Hogue is Network PI.
