The power of scientific discovery drives us and defines our profession. The RSPH research portfolio has the potential to save lives, benefit communities, empower individuals, and directly impact the practice of public health.
Research is one of the principal missions of RSPH and a major activity of faculty and students alike. In fact, during the school year 2002-2003, over 400 students served as paid assistants in RSPH, most of them providing assistance on research projects. Students have the opportunity to work on research projects such as assessing the health risks from environmental exposures, the health consequences of urban sprawl, cost effectiveness of HIV prevention activities, infectious disease control, culture and health threats, health disparities, substance abuse, and a myriad of other Public Health related topics.
