Associate Dean for Research

Gary W. Miller, Associate Dean of Research

Welcome to the website for the Rollins School of Public Health (RSPH) Office of Research. Our faculty are addressing critical areas in public health from air pollution, health care reform, infectious diseases, and mental health.  This work spans issues in the local Atlanta community and the state of Georgia to global concerns (our faculty have projects in over 50 countries). RSPH has a large and comprehensive research portfolio (over $70,000,000 annually), with faculty receiving funding from a wide range of federal and non-federal sources. The Office of Research has been created to facilitate faculty research, help identify funding opportunities, enhance the quality of applications for extramural research support, stimulate inter-departmental research, and provide resources and support for faculty research programs.

The business aspects of proposal submission (routing, budgets, etc.) continue to be overseen by the Business Office under the direction of Bill Lambert, Assistant Dean for Research Administration, but we work closely with his group to make the process as faculty-friendly as possible. I hope that you find this information to be useful and welcome your ideas and input.
