Children spend many hours in one environment – school. They need a safe, healthy setting in which to thrive, learn and succeed. These short videos have been designed to assist in making this a reality.

The Southeast Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit has consulted school personnel in our region to learn about their priorities and interests in the areas of the school environment. Our team used this input to design educational materials for the benefit of school principals and administrators, teachers and school nurses, facility managers, as well as parents. The videos provide an introduction and instruction to several school environmental issues and are available at no cost for non-commercial use.

This project has been carried out by the members of the Southeast Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit at Emory University, with funding support from US EPA, Region 4, Children’s Environmental Health Division and the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics, based in part on our text on this subject, “Safe and Healthy School Environments” (Frumkin, Geller, Rubin, & Nodvin, Oxford University Press 2006). Our PEHSU team is available to consult with school groups as a community outreach service. Feel free to contact us.
